Cromar Lofts Ltd
Effective date: 01 October 2025
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all quotations, surveys, and installations carried out by Cromar Lofts Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”). By accepting a quotation or booking our services, you agree to the following:
1. Quotations & Surveys
- All quotations are free of charge and valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
- Quotations are based on the information available at the time of the survey. If additional work is required (e.g. unforeseen structural or electrical issues), we will inform you and provide an updated quotation.
- Acceptance of a quotation should be made in writing (email is acceptable).
2. Booking & Payment
- A booking will be confirmed once you accept our quotation and we agree a date for the work.
- No deposit is required only when made-to-order items are required, in which case a 50% deposit is required to secure your order with the manufacturer.
- Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the installation.
- All goods, materials, products purchased and supplied by the company will remain the property of the company until payment has been received and cleared in full.
- Payment can be made by bank transfer, online by debit or credit card using the link on your electronic invoice, or by calling us on 07730 775960.
- Cheques are not accepted!
- We reserve the right to charge interest on late payments in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- Late payments will trigger a fee of £25 and will accrue interest at a rate of 8.00% annually on the amount still owing and will be passed to a debt collection agency.
3. Installation
- We will carry out the work with reasonable skill, care and in accordance with the agreed quotation.
- You are responsible for ensuring we have safe and clear access to your property on the agreed installation date.
- We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption, but please note that some dust or noise is unavoidable.
- Any changes to the agreed work must be confirmed in writing and may result in additional charges.
Loft Clearance
- Failure to clear items from your loft including any existing loft flooring or loose boards will result in additional charges being applied unless included in your quote or previously agreed with us.
- Removal of existing flooring will be charged at £40/m2 and removal of loose boards is £25/m2. Removal of other items will be priced at our discretion to cover our additional labour and disposal costs incurred.
- Additionally, depending on the amount of extra work involved, your job may need to be rescheduled to the next available date, which may be several weeks later.
- If you are in any doubt about this requirement please contact us as soon as possible.
- Important Notice: Intended Use
- Please note – Our loft flooring solutions are not designed to be suitable for creating a habitable space in your loft but are intended for storage of items and occasional access.
- Conversion of a loft to a habitable space is a much greater scope of work. If you do decide to convert in the future, it is most likely that any flooring fitted by us would need to be removed first.
- If you wish to know more about this please ask.
4. Warranties & Guarantees
- All our workmanship is guaranteed for 5 Years from the date of completion.
- Materials and products supplied are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable.
- Our guarantee does not cover issues caused by misuse, neglect, alterations by others or general wear and tear.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.
- Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover costs incurred.
- We reserve the right to reschedule the work in the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g. illness, supply delays, extreme weather).
6. Liability
- We hold full public liability insurance for the work we carry out.
- We are not liable for pre-existing issues within your property (e.g. structural weaknesses, electrical faults, damp, or insulation problems) that are discovered during or after the installation.
- Except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.
7. Complaints
We always aim for 100% customer satisfaction. If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us as soon as possible so we can resolve the issue.
